500px Photo ID: 156828563 - I had the privilege of meeting a couple of very cool French guys in San Vicente on Palawan Island in the Philippines. They were all part of an NGO that were helping the local people at Alimanguan fishing village by developing new homes for them and incorporating them into running sustainable tourism to improve their living conditions. The sad part is that this beautiful stretch of beach won't be undeveloped for much longer.

500px Photo ID: 107338713 - Manaslu, the eighth highest peak in the world, catches fire by the early morning alpen-glow. It towers steeply above its surrounding landscape near the Tibetan border. The Nyingmapa Monastery (located in Lhogaon) can be seen in the foreground, it is the oldest of the four schools of Tibetan Buddhism. The Chinese occupation of Tibet and the 1959 uprising caused leaders of the important Nyingmapa lineages to leave Tibet and re-establish themselves elsewhere, like these safer isolated valleys in the Nepalese Himalaya. After the earthquake one week ago, I am hoping this place is undamaged and that the young monks here did not get hurt. There are still reports of many trekkers that remain stranded on the Manaslu Circuit, and humanitarian aid to the villages out here is extremely difficult due to their remoteness, resources being allocated elsewhere and the trail being destroyed by rockslides.
