It's the eighth highest mountain in the world at 8,163 metres (26,781 ft) above sea level. First summited by the Japenese in the 50's, Manaslu is one of the more dangerous 8000ers to climb. As of May 2008, there have been 297 ascents of Manaslu and 53 deaths on the mountain, making it "the 4th most dangerous 8000m peak, behind Annapurna, Nanga Parbat, and K2.

500px Photo ID: 108059397 - A beautiful moment along the Manaslu Circuit in Nepal. There were times where it truly felt that I was transported to a Medi-evil world. Although mule caravans along the trail were common, I hardly saw any locals actually riding their ponies. These boys were quite fascinated as well. :)
